Derelict Photography

It's certainly been a busy few months of photography. I've found myself in some very odd locations in the South West shooting derelict photography.

Now, I promise you. It's not as boring as it sounds. All of the dark rooms and strange textures provide some great opportunities for photography.

Landscape Photography

Landscape photography has become a small obsession of mine in the last few weeks. After waiting with anticipation for the ideal conditions, I've spent the majority of my weekends shooting in North Devon.

Getting back into Photography

A few years ago I took an A Level in Photography at EDC & was a keen photographer to go with it. After I finished my education in photography I naturally began to chase after other things. Thus my love for Photography gradually dwindled and my SLR slowly gathered dust in the corner of the room.

But after much deliberation. I finally did got back out there this weekend.

Consequently I have re launched my Flickr account and have uploaded some of the better photos from the weekend (one of which is above). You can see the rest at flickr.com/photos/peterjnorris

Mark Nightingale - Safety & Stillness

Exeter based singer songwriter Mark Nightingale briefed Peter Norris Design back in October to create some artwork for his upcoming new album 'Safety & Stillness'. He wanted to create a rustic, authentic feel to his album, to suggest something of deeper substance and creativity lying within the physical CD case itself.

I designed an earthy, eroded cover that is consistent throughout the artwork. This is complimented with 'floral growth' vectors with similar colours so not to over power the artwork but to give a delicate finishing touch to the album.

The finished article arrived a couple of weeks ago and myself and Mark are very proud of the end result.

Guy Fletcher's 'Stone' album artwork

Guy Fletcher, former keyboardist for the Dire Straits asked Peter Norris Design to produce album artwork for his new EP 'Stone' last month. We were given creative freedom to explore new ideas and techniques but in the end, we went for a very simplistic but effective design. Using flowing, organic, & beautifully curved lines that are entwined around the artwork.

The final product arrived through our letterbox this week & we're very pleased with the end result. So here are the pictures of our end product.

Exeter based musician, Mark Nightingale & Peter Norris Design are working together to produce album artwork for his new album, 'Safety & Stillness' which will be available next month. Here's a few sneak preview photos taken of the artwork coming together in the final stages.

Healthy Edge - a company specialising in individual health management, approached us to create branding that would successfully communicate with their main target markets; both the individual & corporate.

Healthy Edge desired something that would not only strive to embrace both of these challenging & diverse markets but that would additionally impart a profound sense of 'anyone can do it'.

Our answer to their brief was an organic, friendly & yet ever so slightly corporate logo. That is simple & traditional in terms of it's appearance & design but that creates an incredibly memorable & accessible image for Healthy Edge.

Introducing Healthy for Life

Last month we launched an exciting new brand together with Matthew Fairweather of Matthew Fairweather Design (www.matthewfairweather.co.uk) for 'Healthy for Life,' a new chiropractic business in Exeter, Devon.

Targeted at the individual and coporate we established a middle ground on which both of these groups could be reached through setting it apart and creating a fun, accessible, 'anybody can do it' brand.

Friday 17th 2009.

We are celebrating the release of our new website. Well, it's more of a blog really, infact it is a blog. Nevertheless it's a new website! We'll be uploading our most recent work in the coming days when I eventually get time to sit down with a cup of coffee and do it properly.
